Christ crucified

Jesus said "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me."
John, the apostle, said "This Jesus spake, signifying what death He would die."

This is one of the greatest mysteries of the Christian faith.
Why should the image of Jesus on the cross have the drawing power that it does?
Yet to those, who love the Lord, this image brings peace to the heart,
not the anguish one might expect.

The crucifix always brings a sense of reverence and awe to my heart.
It draws me back to the faith.
