Do not measure your spiritual victory by the amount you prosper in this life.

Many they are who assume the pathway of godliness is determined by the way that gives them the greatest personal gain.
Reference: Jeremiah 32:19 great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, giving to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds;

These are they who mistaken personal gain for godliness.
Reference: Isaiah 56:11 And the dogs are greedy, they are not satisfied. And they are shepherds who have no understanding; They have all turned to their own way, Each one to his unjust gain, to the last one.

They will always follow the way that promises the greatest prospect of personal gain.

They quickly turn from any test of God that would make them suffer personally.

Follow after the way of truth, not wealth.
