The Lord is my Protector

The Lord is my Shepherd.

He defends me against the wiles of the Devil.
He provides for me in the midst of destitution and famine.
He lifts up my life and places it on a solid rock.
So that I am safe and secure from all alarm.

Though I am locked in chains and suffer all afflictions, yet I need never despair.
For You are my God, You are ever with me and You really do care.

You have placed before me an open door that no man can shut
that leads to a place free from all strife.
